The Mercedes-Benz R129 SL is a roadster which was produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1989 through 2002. The R129 replaced the R107 in 1989 and was in its turn replaced by the R230 SL-Class in 2002 for the 2003 model year. The R129 was produced as a two-door, two-seat roadster with an automated (electro-hydraulic), collapsible textile roof, with a shell-like, colour-matched, tonneau cover. All R129s came standard with an aluminium detachable hardtop that was fitted by folding the canvas roof down and manually attaching the hardtop.
Supplied new by Channel Island Mercedes Benz dealer Jacksons Garage on the 19th August 1993, this Jersey registered car has only covered 50677 miles new, and is accompanied with service book detailing every service and oil change carried out initially by the supplying dealer, and then by Mercedes trained MB specialist Andrew Ruellan, with more recent service since 2012 being carried out by the Casterbridge Motor Company. The last service being carried out just over 1500 miles ago in 2017. Having only three owners since new, this SL300 is in extremely good condition, with only one small blemish on the paintwork, the overall condition is extremely good, matched by the interior, hardtop and hood. The car mechanically has been extremely well serviced over the years, and within the service book is an entry which confirms that the speedo unit was replaced at 23565 miles, the mileage covered since that date results in a total of 50677 miles covered since new. In extremely good overall condition, a car with good service history, low ownership, and that has been used sparingly on the Island of Jersey for the majority of its life.
The body work is in very good original condition with no noticeable damage to the front skirt, or lower panels, there is a small blemish on one door panel which can be easily rectified. Free of any small parking dings, or scratches.
The exterior is complimented by the grey leather interior, carpets, and matching hardtop, all of which ae in excellent condition. The underside of the car is in extremely clean condition and rust free condition.
As detailed by the service records the engine and mechanicals are all in very good condition commensurate with mileage. Documents available, MB Document wallet, Service Book Service Invoices
