Few cars better personify traditional, wind-in-the-hair, sports car motoring than a Morgan. This is a near-new condition Plus 4 model with very low mileage, in excellent running and driving condition. A Morgan-branded car cover is included. The car is Guernsey registered. We can assist with shipping and importation processes if required, but any import duties and transport costs would be additional to the price listed.
The bodywork of the Morgan is excellent throughout, with the Ivory paintwork in lovely, as new condition. The car has stainless steel wire wheels, a stainless steel radiator grille and stainless steel luggage rack fitted. The colour-coordinated, burgundy mohair hood is in very good condition, together with matching sidescreens.
The last of these traditional Plus 4 models were fitted with a 2.0 litre Ford GDI engine mated to a 5-speed Mazda MX 5 manual transmission. The engine is rated at 154 bhp @ 6000 rpm, with a quoted top speed of 118 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of around 7.5 seconds. This well-balanced sports 2-seater is in great mechanical condition, running and driving just as it should.
The interior leather trim and carpeting is in near mint condition, as might be anticipated with such a low-mileage vehicle. The walnut dashboard carries a full set of modern instruments complimented by a Moto Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel.
The Morgan Motor Company was founded in 1910 with the specific aim of building three-wheeled “cycle cars”. With a front-mounted engine powering the single rear wheel, they quickly became known for manufacturing well-designed and well-built vehicles, proving very capable in the racing world.
Morgan's first four-wheeler – the 4/4 - was released to the public in 1936, following the same build principles as their 3-wheeled models (which were phased out in 1952). The Morgan Plus 4 was then introduced (in 1950) with a larger engine to provide more performance. This theme continued with the introduction of the Plus 8 in 1968, which made use of the Rover V8 engine. The turn of the century saw the development of new models – all still being handbuilt in traditional Morgan fashion - such as the Roadster and Aero 8, a revised Plus 4 and even a new Morgan 3-wheeler.
The Plus 4 model was produced from 2014 to 2020 and the example here was first registered, new, in Guernsey in December 2017. It has remained in the island throughout its life, well maintained and cared for, sparingly used with less than 4,000 miles recorded.
