This Plus 4 has covered only a little over 6,000 miles from new and is in excellent, well-maintained condition throughout. We are offering this vehicle on behalf of a well-regarded Morgan specialist dealership based in Exmouth, Devon, who have provided new and used Morgans to the Channel Islands for some years and with whom we have enjoyed a close working relationship. The car is available for viewing in Devon, not far from Exeter airport, from where collection and drop-off can be arranged if desired. We can also assist with shipping, importation and registration processes if required.
Finished in high-gloss ‘Sports Black’, with stainless steel radiator grille and front and rear bumpers and discrete ‘110’ badges on the cars flanks. Sitting on 15″ wire wheels, a two-tier luggage rack has been fitted for extra storage. The ‘easy up’ hood in Mulberry is colour matched to the car’s interior.
The 2 litre Ford GDI engine is rated at 154 bhp @6000 rpm, yielding a quoted top speed of 118 mph and a 0-60 mph acceleration time of around 7.5 seconds. The Plus 4 is fitted with a sports exhaust.
The interior of the car is finished in Mulberry leather – Comfort Plus seats with Anniversary badged headrests; door cards and centre tunnel – all set-off against black carpeting. The walnut dashboard carries a full set of modern instruments complimented by a Moto Lita leather-rimmed steering wheel.
The Morgan Motor Company was founded in 1910 with the specific aim of building three-wheeled “cycle cars”. With a front-mounted engine powering the single rear wheel, they quickly became known for manufacturing well-designed and well-built vehicles, proving very capable in the racing world.
Morgan's first four-wheeler – the 4/4 - was released to the public in 1936, following the same build principles as their 3-wheeled models (which were phased out in 1952). The Morgan Plus 4 was then introduced (in 1950) with a larger engine to provide more performance. This theme continued with the introduction of the Plus 8 in 1968, which made use of the Rover V8 engine. The turn of the century saw the development of new models – all still being handbuilt in traditional Morgan fashion - such as the Roadster and Aero 8, a revised Plus 4 and even a new Morgan 3-wheeler.
As 2019 saw the 110th anniversary of the Company, Morgan celebrated this landmark with the introduction of a range of ‘110 Anniversary’ models. Each of these carries unique badging denoting its status as a limited edition vehicle.
This 110 Anniversary car is one of the last of the traditional Morgan Plus 4s and is fitted with a 2.0 litre Ford engine mated to a Mazda MX 5 manual transmission.
